Antlered Woman Cauldron
This ceremonial piece touches on the wildish knowings of the Antlered Woman. Some know her as Elen of the Ways. Some sense her as the Wood Wife. Some see her as the ancient Deer Mother. All have common old wisdom, an intrinsic connection to the natural and super natural realms, and finely tuned instinct. This functional ware is more than just altar eye candy. It was crafted to honour the essence of antlered women and to support working with these medicines. With a 3 legged nod to triple aspects, this cauldron can hold burning herbs or prayer scrolls safely up off of tabletops. One might collect waters for moonlight, blend teas in, hold crystals or sacred objects, even ritually sip from. Put up as a protective talisman. Touch for honouring your chosen Goddess. A sign of entering red tent ritual space. Invoke more conversation, inquiry, acceptance. Turn away those who can not or will not come with respect. Hang them up as soft tending toward healing, normalizing and loving parts of us that so often are tangled up in shame, hurt, or simply have had no connection to. These come in a variety of shades from chocolatey brown to white clay, depending on what I have on hand, and with surrounding textured, hand painted hair, unless a specific request comes through for bare. The Holly King & Oak King set
Autumn seems a fine time for this set to have completed and now find their adoptive home, for the Holly King is taking up rule of these darker seasons while the Oak King takes his leave until resurgence with the Sun come Spring. For those of us who do, or want to, work closely with the life/death/rebirth cycle, those who ebb and flow with the seasons into fullness and fallow times, those who embrace duality, balance, or feel battles of light and dark, or hold more kindship with a masculine version of An Cailleach and Brigid's ever turning wheel of vitality and decay...this cup and bowl have the ogham of Holly and Oak together, inscribed twice directly across the circle from each other in a nod to their meeting and exchange of power to rule at Equinoxes and the balance this brings to the world. The mug holds 1 cup of drink, good for strong home brews or hot beverages for slow drinkers (like me) while the bowl is closer to 1.5 cups of soup, more of course if piled potatoes or mounds of bread pudding.

Mushroom Fae House

Ceremonial Plate
I often speak of living with a feel for touching in on the ebb and flow that is naturally present as a map of sorts to follow while we move through a day, a month, a year, a breath, a lifetime… These Summertime days invites the world alive at its fullest expression, with trees bearing their ripest fruits, bears lolling in grasses all gorged and satisfied, berries plump on their vines. Birds fill the air with song, snakes bask in the Sun. There is a sensuality to it all. The map route has walked us away from tucking up quietly dreaming and withdrawn during long dark nights and toward living life right down to our fingertips, and perhaps this year, it is an extra important balm. It is active engagement with living. It is remedy from dissociative tendencies of isolation and hyper-alert chaos cacophony. It is a slow, full embodiment of being Here and Now. Creating opportunity to relish in our senses is good medicine. Wrapping and nesting in fabrics that feel delicious. Relishing the sound of your lover’s voice. Fragrant flowers brought to the table. Beauty making in the spaces we are in, nothing fancy per se, more simply, arrangements that bring a pleasing thrill through our entire body. And taste! Savouring a pungent nibble of fresh herbs in salad, the nuanced flavours of favourite bread, how nutty can be comforting and zingy more invigorating. Perhaps not for every meal, but at least some of the time, our relationship with eating can become ceremonial, medicinal, sacred eye candy and soul food both. Pán Bowl
Rowdy, raucous, randy Pán, lustful seducer of nymphs, wise prophet, and desired friend of shepherds and hunters both. Worshipped in dark caves or the dank forest floor where the most wildest things are. After 2 months in process this fella, appropriately dipped in Randy's Red glaze with an underglazed nod to usual his phallic accompaniment, is finally Done. This Old God is ready for dark wild nights full of sweaty dancing to reed pipes, perhaps filled with water for Scrying, or the stuff of hooved men that I'm not really meant to know about. He let me measure him so I can let you know that he is 3.5" tall and just under 6" across. I can tell he would not like an "adoption fee" but rather goblin market barter style for cold hard cash and a piece of bread from the pocket of a wanderer. If he is meant to come be with you, $50 Canadian might satisfy but send your best bread recipe too to be safe

Lover's Sharing Cups
These wheel thrown, hand carved cups are intended to invoke and celebrate the beauty and medicine of balanced exchange, joy filled sharing, and healthy dynamics of mutual care and support within partnerships. I've been calling them Lover's Sharing Cups but really could apply to other deep friendships or close community. Norse runes have been inscribed on each side of these cups with the vision of two people holding at the same time, hands over hands, able to each sip in turn. Perfect for handfasting, weddings, commitment ceremonies, or to keep this medicinal energy present and close in awareness within established relationships. Suitable too for solo hearts inviting a general energy of ease with joy and love sharing to radiate outward from and be open to receive more of. I can also see these cups passing from hand to hand around a sacred fire before storytelling, within medicine circles, or other relationships of safe trusting mutual support. There are only two brown bowls left ready for homing. A few are made with a naturally rich chocolatey coloured "coffee" clay. Oyster Shells
I have long loved oyster shells. The beaches I've been close with have them strewn about the intertidal zone, and are always so varied in shape and size ~ sometimes attached to a stone, maybe home to a plethora of barnacles, sometimes with a hole worn out. Their shiny insides reflect the moonlight and so make excellent path markers (as long as one does not have a pupper about) and if you're lucky, one comes along that makes a perfect dish. These sculpted & hand painted ceramic oyster shells were the catalyst for teaching me all about adductor muscle scars; the pretty mark inside the anterior shell, it's left by the muscle that flexes to close them up when the tide goes out or a hungry predator starts hassling. Ready to bring a bit of the seaside into your home, perhaps adorning a shrine to your patron sea goddess or for holding earrings and wedding bands safety.

Bless Ogham Nesting Set
The Ogham is an ancient Irish writing and association system that survived the ages in stone carvings. Each of these pieces is inscribed with the word "Bless" and is read from the bottom up. Many folks with a Celtic connection will also use the Ogham in various divination methods, as a means of cultural revival, and in their spiritual practice reclamation. These four wheel thrown bowls nest together with two at approximately 5"x3" and two at 4"x2". Perfect for tandem ritual work or use all together for offerings, feast meals, to consecrate sacred objects, intentional working, or to hold notes and representations of what you would like blessed. All of our work is food safe and so suited for both use as ceremonial supports as well as everyday use. A beautiful way to bring gratitude to the supper table!

Yoni Cups & Vulva Dishes
Perfect sacred supports for menarche, motherhood, and crone rites of passage. For sprinkling rose petals into when healing from sexual trauma. Holding libations or anointments. Tuck fertility intentions into. Sip raspberry leaf tea from when cramping. Place on Red Tent altars. Pour moonblood onto the earth, learn cycle teachings, reclaim sovereignty, and tend to allll the aspects that genitalia might bring up, both the painful and the beautiful. These little pinch pots are one of a kind, with or without hair, in a range of natural earthy/fleshy colour depending on what clay I have on hand and where they sit in the kiln when fired. Medicine Woman Mugs
Ceremonial drinking vessels that fit right at home in your altar, to honour the personal medicines you embody, to call forward your wise woman ways, to step into deeper relationship with your wildish instincts and natural knowings. Some here are of the Altered Woman or Elen of the Ways, the one who knows all of the routes, doorways, methods of transition, and rites of passage ~ be they how to move across the land in a good way, how to birth something new or hold dying well, how to heal, how to know, how to walk with the sacred... Some here have Pictish face paint drawing from the roots of heritage to nourish those of us with ancestry from the Celtic nations Perfect for cacao ceremonies, monthly healing teas, moon water blessing, or our morning coffee rituals. As with all loved pottery, washing in clean water separately from other dishes will prolong the life of your vessel. It started ever so quietly, and as things do, the whisper trail became a harmony of ideas and inspirations until a clear and distilled essence could not go unanswered. Garlic Grater Plates ~ Hand Pinched
Perfect for Kitchen Witchin' and natural medicine making! Pictured here is a sample of the wholesome organic look of grater plates made by hand. Each begins as a ball of clay and are press, press, pressed with tiny "pinches" into small shallow dishes. Their imprinted designs are just rough enough for emulsifying garlic without roughing up your fingers. Most are hand painted with coloured underglazes while others may be dipped. Each is made just deep enough and often with a little moat to hold oil & seasonings along with your grated garlic to invite fresh baked bread dipping. Simply rub a clove of garlic across or around the bottom of the plate and either brush the emulsified garlic into your cooking or add oil to enjoy right in the dish! While your Selkie Sanctuary food intended dishes will be made with durable stoneware and tested for functionality prior to shipping, there are certain "best practices" to help ensure the longevity of any handmade ceramic pieces.
a) Prewarming any special cup or mug under warm water prior to filling it with boiling water is always recommended. Particularly during cold Winters.
b) Handwashing is always preferred over machine, even if your piece is made with durable stoneware or is labeled "dishwasher safe"
c) Use microwaves cautiously. Ensuring any hand made ceramics are thoroughly dry before any microwave use is vital. As a commonality among potters, you will note an area on the bottom of handmade cups, bowls and that is unglazed, this is where moisture can sometimes be absorbed, particularly if made with low fired earthenware clay. Absorbed moisture can cause breakage with microwave use. I will only ever send you mid fire stoneware vessels which * should * be microwave safe, but hey, this is a list of best practices. If you love a piece, you will want to treat it extra fine :)
d) Ceramics, much like anything, is subject to wear and tear with use. This means your cup may survive plenty of bonks in the sink for months, but one day a small tap causes a chip or broken handle. This generally is not a fault of your potter. Small unseen can fractures happen with normal use then tend to make themselves known rather suddenly. Typically with any ceramics, handmade or factory, it is not recommended to use for food or drink if there is a crack or chip where food or mouths touch.
e) Like all dishes, always wash your wares thoroughly. Particular attention should be paid to any engravings, or textured and sculpted areas.
